- Deposit: The security deposit for rental scooters is €400,- per scooter. It can be held on a CREDIT CARD as a reservation or in cash. Without exceptions, all deposits are returned in the same way as received.

Scooterrent was the only company I found online that provides rental for 4 or more days, so it couldn't be that bad, or so I thought. It just happenned that I wanted to go outside of Amsterdam for 4 days, lets's just say to visit some of Netherland's famous attractions. So, I decided to take a risk (I had no idea what I would do should the scooter break down, but my bother in law, who has own scooter, told me they are a fairly reliable transport). The staff asked me to sign some documents, they took my license and credit card details and off I went. About 20 mins later I noticed a small technical issue - the speedometer and odometer didn't work (frankly I didn't notice this earlier as was too excited to ride it), but otherwise the scooter appeared to be in a good technical order. I emailed Scooterrent and they promptly offered me to come back to fix it, which I thought wasn't too critical, so I didn't go back.. Four days later - and the scooter was returned with no other issues. I am so happy everything went well, I would probably use the same company next time I am in Amsterdam. Scooterrent appears to be a decent company and they have an impressive shop. Thank you! P.S. Giving 4 stars instead of 5 only because the staff told me they "don't drive the scooters themselves, so don't know their condition"... Ahem... if this is true, guys, please do check them before you rent them, as that's what you are paid for!
